Groundbreaking event at Bayview

Bayview on the Bellarine was host to a ground-breaking event this morning, literally – where ground was broken at an official turning the sod ceremony for the Woolworths supermarket which will be part of the Bayview on the Bellarine Shopping Centre.

The sod turning ceremony welcomed the beginning of construction on a full-line Woolworths supermarket and 11 speciality stores in what will become the first shopping centre in a Jetty Road estate in the Curlewis Growth Area.

General Manager of National Pacific Properties, Stephen Copland, says this new shopping district will create a fantastic opportunity not just for Bayview residents but also those in the wider community.

“Bayview on the Bellarine is delighted that construction of the Bayview on the Bellarine Shopping Centre was officially kicked off at Woolworth’s sod turning ceremony this morning,” Stephen said.

“The Bayview on the Bellarine Shopping Centre will be walking distance from all lots in the estate, offering a hugely convenient choice for residents, while also adding to the many established services and amenities in surrounding suburbs.”

More than just a collection of shops, the Bayview on the Bellarine Shopping Centre is part of the Curlewis Town Centre and is set to be a focal meeting point in the estate.

“Views from the Bayview on the Bellarine Shopping Centre will stretch down the main street of the estate, right out across Port Phillip Bay onto the You Yangs and Melbourne’s CBD,” Stephen said.

“This will be a place to enjoy leisurely weekend shopping or catch up with friends for a coffee right in the heart of the relaxed foreshore lifestyle that Bayview is becoming renowned for.

“With completion scheduled for spring next year, this new shopping quarter has already created a great vision for the future here at Bayview.
